Local doctors form independent physicians association
Quality Care IPA, a new local independent physicians association, will offer its services in the Las Vegas Valley beginning in January.
The association said it a statement that it is the only one in Southern Nevada made up solely of doctors working independently in private practices.
“The physicians in our association are selected not by the corporate officers of a large health plan but by established quality doctors within the local community, whose primary commitment is to providing quality patient care,” said Dr. Tony Alamo, a native Las Vegas physician and member of Quality Care IPA’s board of directors.
Alamo said the association chose the tag line, “Quality Doctors. Quality Care” to explain the organization’s mission.
Quality Care IPA includes 315 primary care and specialty physicians, live customer support and an extensive health care services network. The network offers laboratories throughout the valley, access to specialty care, and affiliation with all Las Vegas-area hospitals.
The association’s initial patient care service offering will be for recipients of Medicare, who can switch to a Quality Care IPA doctor by contacting their health plan.
“In selecting a Quality Care IPA physician, patients are choosing a doctor who is committed to the maintenance of their health and well-being and who retains the autonomy needed to act in their best interests,” Alamo said. “Our physicians work not only as caring, committed, medical professionals, but also as patient advocates, assuring that IPA members receive the best preventative and diagnostic care available.”
