Health district to contact some clients after main facility closes

Because of its main facility shutting down, the Southern Nevada Health District will contact clients who recently have tested positive for a sexually transmitted disease.

The health district closed its downtown headquarters over the weekend because of an engineering report that found the building lacks an internal support system.

Employees and clients are being sent to other health district locations throughout the valley for services.

STD test results can be picked up at the East Las Vegas Public Health Center or the Henderson Public Health Center. Test results are only available in person and identification is required.

A printout of test results is $3.

Those who received an STD or HIV test at the Gay and Lesbian Center or the Richard Steel Boxing Gym should call 702-759-0733 for test results.
