MISTRESS AMERICA: In New York, a lonely college freshman (Lola Kirke) is taken in by her free-spirited soon-to-be stepsister (Greta Gerwig) in the latest collaboration between Gerwig and writer-director Noah Baumbach. At multiple locations. (84 min.) R; language including some sexual references.

UN GALLO CON MUCHOS HUEVOS: When a rancher threatens to destroy his home and his family, a young chicken (voiced by Bruno Bichir) must find his inner rooster in this animated tale. In Spanish with English subtitles. At multiple locations. (98 min.) PG-13; suggestive content and sexual references.

JIMMY’S HALL: Jimmy Gralton (Barry Ward) reopens his popular dance hall during the worst of the Depression, a decade after it was closed after a series of violent protests, in this fact-based drama. At Village Square. (109 min.) PG-13; language and a scene of violence.

HEROES OF DIRT: A BMX dirt jumper (Joel Moody) reluctantly mentors a troubled teen (Will Martinez). At Orleans and Sam’s Town. (102 min.) PG-13; thematic material involving drugs, some violence and language.
