Shecky Greene celebrates the good old days

Shecky Greene’s first Las Vegas shows in 1954 are famous, because he shared the bill with Elvis Presley. But the comedian eventually put in more years on the Strip, and had more of a reputation as a hard-partying bad boy than the mannered singer from Memphis.

In recent years, the almost 85-year-old comedian’s occasional Las Vegas shows have been more like career celebrations, the stories about the old days as much fun as his old routines.

You can hear them at 7:30 p.m. today through Sunday at the South Point, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tickets are $50-$60; call 797-8055.
