Rogan bringing laughs to Vegas
Joe Rogan usually does stand-up in Las Vegas before an Ultimate Fighting Championship card here. What can he talk about as a comic that he can’t as an official color commentator?
“A lot,” he promised when last in town Super Bowl weekend. “First of all, some of the douchier fans that are really into letting everyone know that they’re into mixed martial arts. I literally saw a T-shirt that said, ‘Tap or snap. It’s up to you.’ Can you imagine walking around (in that)?”
But fans roll with it, he insists. “They might not (like it), but they need to hear it.
“The beautiful thing about stand-up is I don’t have to think about what not to say,” he says. “It all comes together, too. All my interests and all my points of view really kind of jell.”
Rogan performs at 9 p.m. today at Mandalay Bay Theatre, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tickets are $35-$45 (632-7580).
