Studio 54 has staying power on local club scene
Over the past 13 years, the local club scene has been in a near constant state of flux.
Clubs have come and gone, management changed hands. Guests started paying for the privilege to sit down. The nightlife spawned a daylife. And in this economy, uncertainty abounds.
But, aside from a few tweaks here and there, Studio 54 has maintained a constant presence, a warm security blanket for those who may wonder if it’s possible to stay popular for more than a decade in this town.
That success is due largely to the club’s strong brand and name, says spokesman Anthony Olheisier.
"I think compared to other venues, we have a much broader reach," Olheisier says, citing the club’s demographics as evidence. "A lot of people enjoy the club, it’s very accessible."
DJ Eric Forbes spins on Wednesdays and Thursdays; DJ Loczi will be launching a new Friday night event, Electric Dream, on New Year’s Eve.
Cover charge is $20 for men, $10 for women during the weekdays with locals getting in free. On Fridays and Saturdays, cover is $20 for men and $20 for women.
