Iconic fluffy-tailed servers still a draw of Playboy Club

Las Vegas nightclubs use all sorts of marketing gimmicks in an effort to distinguish themselves from one another.

But even its rivals would agree that the Playboy Club boasts a gimmick that, over the decades, has become an American icon.

The Playboy Bunny, the club’s corps of fluffy-tailed cocktail servers.

On any given night, visitors to the Playboy Club at the Palms can view guests happily interacting with the club’s Bunnies via the taking of photos and almost star-struck conversation.

Among those fans are, of course, older gentlemen who may have possessed Playboy Club keys a few decades ago, 20-something men for whom the Playboy brand continues to shine and, even, a surprising number of young women who can recognize American pop-culture royalty as readily as the guys.

The Las Vegas Playboy Club is designed with an eye toward creating a sophisticated vibe more reminiscent of a cocktail party than a typical nightclub. And while music, a dance floor and other nightclub accoutrements are, of course, available, guests who wish to merely sit down, order a cocktail and take in the classic vibe will find it easy to do so.

And seeing as how this is, after all, Las Vegas, the Playboy Club even offers gaming in the form of blackjack and roulette tables.

The Playboy Club at the Palms, 4321 W. Flamingo Road, opens at 9 p.m. seven days a week. Cover for men and nonlocal women is $20 on weekdays and $40 on weekends — local women receive complimentary admission every day — which also includes access to the Palms’ Moon nightclub.
