Grammy nominees playing Vegas clubs
Grammy nominations are out, and Las Vegas is again represented by top DJ-producers who have residency gigs on the Strip and musicians who perform in clubs often.
■ Best Dance/Electronica Album nominations went to: Steve Aoki for “Wonderland”; Kaskade for “Fire & Ice”; Skrillex for “Bangarang”; Deadmau5 for “Album Title Goes Here”; and The Chemical Brothers for “Don’t Think.”
Aoki performs tonight (and Dec. 28) at Surrender for his Wynn-Encore club residency.
Kaskade returns to his Marquee residency Dec. 29.
Deadmau5’s next gig at XS is Dec. 30.
And Skrillex returns for his Surrender residency Dec. 30.
■ Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical nominations went to: Avicci’s “Levels”; Calvin Harris/Ne-Yo’s “Let’s Go”; Skrillex/Sirah’s “Bangarang”; Swedish House Mafia/John Martin’s “Don’t You Worry Child”; and Al Walser’s “I Can’t Live Without You.”
Harris performs Saturday (and Dec. 29) at XS. (Incidentally, Ne-Yo grew up largely in Las Vegas.)
■ Fun. was nominated for Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Group Performance for “We Are Young.”
Fun. performs Dec. 31 at Haze.
■ LMFAO was nominated for “Sexy And I Know It.”
Redfoo (half of the LMFAO duo) performs Monday at Marquee.
■ Nas was nominated for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance for “Daughters,” and for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “Cherry Wine” with the late Amy Winehouse.
Nas performs Dec. 28 at Tao.
■ John Legend and Ludacris were nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for “Tonight (Best You Ever Had).”
Legend performs Dec. 30 at Haze.
Ludacris performs Dec. 29 at the Bank.
■ And Diplo was nominated for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, for working with Usher, Snoop, Justin Bieber and others.
Diplo DJs Monday (and Dec. 21) at XS at Encore.
