Uncle Kracker taking stage at Sam’s Town
Uncle Kracker has NASCAR friends dating back to 2007, when he sang on the midway of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Kracker, aka Matthew Shafer, is working on his fifth studio album, having fully broken ties with his rap-rock past and remade himself as a country singer with “Drift Away,” “Smile,” “Follow Me” and, of course, his Kenny Chesney duet, “When the Sun Goes Down.”
Before he heads off on Chesney’s “Goin’ Coastal” tour, you can see him up close at 8 p.m. Saturday in Sam’s Town Live at Sam’s Town, 5111 Boulder Highway. Tickets are $22; call 365-7075.
