Tony Orlando keeps tradition alive

Wayne Newton may or may not be retired, and Tom Jones and Paul Anka don’t come around as often as they used to.

But fear not, lovers of classic, tuxedo-clad Vegas showmanship. Tony Orlando worked the Desert Inn, Las Vegas Hilton, Golden Nugget — you name it — over the past 30 years.

And sure, he revisits the early ’70s glory days of "Candida" and "Knock Three Times." But those are almost perfunctory for a guy whose real goal is to teach you what it means to be an "entertainer" with a capital "O" — err, "E."

You can see him at 7:30 p.m. today through Sunday at the South Point, 9777 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tickets are $45-$55; call 797-8055.
