Supersuckers bringing debauched fun to Palms

The Supersuckers are the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band in the world.

Just ask them if you have any doubts.

The tongue-in-cheek rockers have long touted their own awesomeness with a knowing wink, but their live gigs offer at least some validation of said hyperbole (check out one of their five live discs for proof).

Equally indebted to AC/DC, Hank Williams and, at least earlier on in their career, various illicit substances, the Supersuckers brought a welcome, highly necessary blast of debauched fun and self-aware humor to the overserious grunge ranks that dominated their Seattle stomping grounds in the early ’90s.

Since then, they’ve released an excellent country album (1997’s “Must Have Been High”) and spent more time on the road than a highway patrol unit.

Now, they’re older, but, thankfully, not that much more mature.
