Big Easy bands play at Favorites

Not sure what it is about New Orleans that makes it such fertile ground for carcinogenic sludge metal, but the city has belched up two more promising, punishing acts of this ilk in Red Shield and Solid Giant, who team up at 8 p.m. Monday at Favorites, 4110 S.
