‘Magic Mike Live’ is off to an XXL start at Hard Rock Hotel
The new adult-male burlesque “Magic Mike Live” created by actor Channing Tatum at The Hard Rock Hotel is off to an amazing start even before its official grand opening April 21, as previews began six days ago.
When the dance hunks, recruited from all over the world, appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” the box office here sold nearly $1.5 million in tickets within 24 hours. The dance spectacular plays twice nightly to 450 shrieking women at a time, which means that there are 900 more women hanging out at The Hard Rock Hotel than ever did before.
Former “Rock of Ages” star Mark Shunock, who was toasted with a surprise birthday celebration Tuesday night at Andre Rochat’s new Andre’s Bistro, is there nightly as the opening master of ceremonies to shoo offstage the bad numbers of a Village People-type group and usher in the amazing routines at the new Club Domina.
The former space of Body English has been re-created to look like the strip club Club Domina from the two hit films “Magic Mike” and “Magic Mike XXL.”
