Fans meet bodybuilders at Meet the Olympians event
Tonight (Sept. 15), talk show host Ellen DeGeneres hosts the cast of our hot new show “Magic Mike Live,” when they appear on her daily TV talk show. This week, she made her first visit to watch the remarkable live striptease at the Hard Rock Hotel and admitted to a one-of-a-kind experience with special guest and show creator, Channing Tatum, by her side. The program airs here on KVVU-TV (Channel 5), but check local listings for other locations.
The modern male burlesque production set in the mythical Club Domina is based on the hit films “Magic Mike” and “Magic Mike XXL.” The state-of-the-art venue is designed with the capabilities to house a show that features 13 of the hottest and most talented men in the country performing in front of, behind, above and all around the audience. Conceived by actor Channing Tatum and co-directed by Channing and film franchise choreographers Alison Faulk and Teresa Espinosa, the show features sexy and daring themed dance and strip routines punctuated by one-of-a-kind acts from a wildly diverse cast of performers.

If that doesn’t heat things up, the 69th prime time Emmy awards on Sunday night with Stephen Colbert as host expected to roast President Donald Trump and simultaneously hand over a Best Actor award to Alec Baldwin for his skewering of our Chief Executive on “Saturday Night Live.” Stephen could win several awards since he’s been nominated six times! Fans of “Games of Thrones” will be upset to learn there are no nominations for their favorite show as it broadcast too late to qualify this year. However, watch for HBO, Hulu and Netflix productions to scoop up numerous awards for Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern.

On Saturday — Mexico’s Independence Day — is a real boxing match at the T-Mobile Arena. And not the one recently between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor that boosted them to multimillionaire status. This time, it’s a 12-round, middleweight showdown between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on a seven-bout winning streak and Gennady Golovkin, who has a staggering record of 37 wins with 33 by knockout and no losses!
……
Hundreds of weightlifting fans were able to meet and take photos with some of their favorite bodybuilders, including current and former champions, at this week’s Meet the Olympians event at The Orleans Arena. It was held in conjunction with the Mr. Olympia contest taking place there this weekend.
……
Add in Mike Tyson, the San Gennaro Feast, Mexican Independence Day and Oktberfest with Sigfried & Roy, and it’s a blockbuster weekend. Finally though a note about Piff the Magic Dragon. He may well have been the Loser of Season 10 of “America’s Got Talent,” but he has proven he is anything but with the new that his popular residency at the Flamingo. It has been extended through the end of 2018. Even celebrated magician Penn Jillette, who headlines at the Rio stopped by to congratulate him. Then the duo went on stage in matching dragon outfits to perform some tricks together to the total surprise of the audience.

So time to wave a magic wand, shout out ‘abracadabra’ or “Viva La Mexico” and pull out this week’s edition of the Royal Robin Rundown from the rabbit’s hat or the sombrero:
