Shania Twain returning for 24-show residency on Strip
As we say, this is not her first rodeo.
Shania Twain is back for her third residency on the Strip. The country superstar is headlining a 24-show residency beginning in May at Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood.
A trailblazer in popular music and the top-selling female country artist of all-time will begin “Shania Twain: Come On Over – The Las Vegas Residency – All The Hits!” on May 10. Caesars Entertainment announced her return in a news release Tuesday.
“It is a very special time for me. I am happier than ever to be on stage. I am just loving life, loving sharing my new music and … just feeling really happy and I am hoping to just get up there and bring some inspiration, more positively,” Twain told “CBS Mornings.”
The show will return to her “Come On Over” album released in November 1997.
“All the hits will be on the show and hopefully we will just have a lot of fun together,” said Twain, who has sold 100 million albums worldwide and won five Grammys.
The series kicks of with seven dates in May, beginning May 10-11. Twain continues through next August, September and seven dates Nov. 29-Dec. 14, 2024, most of those shows running alongside the National Finals Rodeo.
Expect the 57-year-old headliner to perform “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” “You’re Still The One,” “From This Moment On,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” and “Come On Over.” She’ll also sample cuts from “Queen of Me,” her latest album.
Twain says she plans to make a statement in Round 3 on the Strip.
“If you want to change things or you want the show to evolve, it’s as if the whole building, the whole theater is my playroom for a while,” Twain told Billboard. “I love that I get consistency that I can build a show that I don’t have to worry about moving around. It’s a very different approach to the production when you have the luxury of things being maybe a little more fragile and if there are things you couldn’t take on the road.”
Twain has used such design elements as a campfire and even a live horse on stage in her shows.
“It’s a controlled environment, no variables you have to worry about — you can get the sound and lights the way you want it,” she said. “That custom element of the production is a luxury.”
Twain has headlined the residencies “Still The One” at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace from 2012-14, and “Let’s Go!” at then Zappos Theater (today’s Bakkt) from 2019-2022. She has made her mark in Las Vegas’ civic institutions, honored as Nevada Ballet Theatre’s Woman of the Year in 2019.
Twain is supporting her favorite charity through the new show. In partnership with Live Nation and Caesars Entertainment, Twain has committed $1 from every ticket purchase to be directed toward the Shania Kids Can.
