Readers to the rescue with lamb suggestions
As a lover of lamb myself, I often enjoy it at restaurants across the valley, but I was interested in which ones readers would recommend to Libby Hoover, who’s looking for places that serve it year-round. And sure enough, lots of readers came through.
Siegie Knobling recommended the chops at Waverly’s Steakhouse at the Cannery, 2121 E. Craig Road in North Las Vegas; Donna Andress suggested the lamb lollipops at Remedy’s, 3265 St. Rose Parkway and 530 Conestoga Way, both in Henderson; David Fleury recommended the rack of lamb at Andre’s at the Monte Carlo, 3770 Las Vegas Blvd. South; Beth More and Ethel Dubuc suggested Outback Steakhouse.
In addition, C. McGilton suggested Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse, 8721 W. Sahara Ave., and Table 34, 600 E. Warm Springs Road, as well as Indian, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurants; Aaron Mantz said mini chops on a skewer are available at the Montana Meat Co., 6371 Centennial Center Blvd. and 9135 S. Durango Drive, plus Greek and Lebanese restaurants; and Purnell Westbrook of Crozet, Va., suggested the rack of lamb at The Big Horn restaurant at 1300 Arizona St. in Boulder City. …
For Joanne Klimczak, who’s looking for chicken wings that are crispy and not soggy, Westbrook said The Big Horn has those, too, with sauce on the side. …
For Tom Kaiser, who’s looking for Jack Daniel’s Dijon Mustard, Steve Brady e-mailed that it and three other varieties of Jack’s mustard are available at Smith’s at 1421 N. Jones Blvd. …
For Julie Summers, who’s looking for Campbell’s Tomato-Rice Soup, Alice Hocking reported spotting it at Vons at 1031 Nevada Highway in Boulder City, and Mary Watson e-mailed that she found it at Albertsons at 2851 N. Green Valley Parkway in Henderson. …
For James Friedrich, Janet McFarland e-mailed that she often finds Lipton Cup-A-Soup in chicken noodle or cream of chicken flavors at Smith’s or Target, and Doris Lewis said she found cream of chicken on www.amazon.com. …
And for Bill Callet, Mantz said he’s sad to report that Kraft/Nabisco Cheese Nips are “no longer of this planet.” …
