No barbecue is complete without baked beans, and with our nearly year-round barbecue season in the valley, it’s fortunate there’s a ready source of Heinz Vegetarian Baked Beans for Sandra Gersh.

Jerry and Barbara Brooks, Robert Shulman, Murray Leitner and Ginger Fein said they can be found at various Albertsons stores. Francine Scott said she gets hers at Lucky, 4801 Spring Mountain Road, and Chris Jensen, owner of Village Meat & Wine, 5025 S. Eastern Ave., said he carries a variety of Heinz products, including the vegetarian baked beans. …

For Bertha Rosati, who’s looking for Grandma Brown’s Baked Beans, Robert Bagne e-mailed that it can be ordered online from www.NewYorkStyleDeli.com (or call 800-285-3791), adding that the site carries other Rochester-area products, including Zweigle’s white and red hot dogs. …

For Kenneth Cribari, who’s looking for Woody’s Cook-In Sauce barbecue sauce, Raylene Martin wrote that it can be ordered online through www.woodyscookin.com. The site also lists sources in northern and rural Nevada, and notes that the company anticipates Safeway affiliates — which include Vons — to start restocking the product sometime this month. …

For Karen Sharkey, who’s looking for cooking-grade saltpeter for making corned beef, Roger Armstrong e-mailed that he gets his at Lam’s Pharmacy, 2202 W. Charleston Blvd. And Rae Ann Chavez recommended Morton’s Tender Quick curing salt, which isn’t sold locally but can be ordered through the online store at www.mortonsalt.com. …

For Grace Catalino, who’s looking for veal breast for stuffing, Jensen e-mailed that he carries it, complete with pocket. …

And for Beth Molburg, who’s looking for the chef formerly with Art’s Place and the Brick House, Gina Yenser e-mailed that she suspects the person Molburg is referring to is her mother, Pat Rost, who isn’t currently working as a chef — although she sometimes caters — but as the wine director at Piero’s Italian Cuisine, 355 Convention Center Drive. …
