Frozen rhubarb can be found in valley
Rhubarb may be somewhat of an acquired taste, but once it’s acquired, it’s difficult to ignore. I know that from personal experience and from the number of requests I regularly get for frozen rhubarb, which is tough to find in the valley.
But a recent query yielded some results: Yes, it is available here, at Smith’s stores — but apparently only some Smith’s stores. Jack R. Fleming e-mailed that after a two- or three-year absence he found it at the store at 2211 N. Rampart Blvd., Judith Draper said she gets hers at the store at 10616 S. Eastern Ave. in Henderson and Sally Tews said she found it (around Thanksgiving) at Smith’s at 10100 W. Tropicana Ave. (And remember, you can always buy it fresh, clean and cube, and freeze.) …
For Karen Finnegan, Michele Bonelli and Mike Masarsky e-mailed that Sabrett hot dogs can be found at Sunflower Farmer’s Market, which is at 3365 E. Tropicana Ave. and 4020 S. Rainbow Blvd., and Masarsky added that a cart at Ellis Island, 4178 Koval Lane, had them during football season. Colleen Sams said Albertsons at 2650 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway in Henderson carries two varieties of the hot dogs plus Sabrett onion sauce and mustard, and Liliana Lopez and Cindi D. Updegrove said Vinny Boy’s Italian Marketplace, 3620 W. Sahara Ave., sells and serves them, plus Sabrett sauerkraut, sausages and more. …
