Chocolate sauce finally uncovered

Ah, the thrill of discovery.

“I’ve finally found it,” e-mailed Clydette Herrier. “Dove dark-chocolate topping in a jar, and it’s done by Smucker’s. Someone asked for this months ago and I have been looking to replace mine ever since.”

Herrier said she found it at Vons at 320 S. Decatur Blvd. …

For Bill Brown, who is looking for Kobe ground beef, Bill De Lucia said it can be found at The Butcher Block, 7625 S. Rainbow Blvd., adding that the store carries “a nice selection of other Kobe cuts.” Chris Jensen of Village Meat & Wine, 5025 S. Eastern Ave., said he carries it, too, as well as Kobe hot dogs and various cuts of Kobe steaks.

And Craig Mariutto suggested asking for Wagyu beef, which, as he pointed out, is the name used for the American product. …

For Andy Steiner, Karen Malaguti said 2 1/2- to 3-pound Maine lobsters can be found at the International Marketplace, 5000 S. Decatur Blvd. And Peggy Toth, whose son-in-law lives in Rockland, Maine, suggested Lobsters-Online at www.lobsters-online.com (or call 888-353-9898) or www.redlobster.com (or call 866-242-5200). “Had before; very good,” she added. …

“In response to Rick Siegel’s request for low/no-sodium foods: Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and health-food stores are good sources,” e-mailed Pat Willson. “Whole Foods has an electronic directory where you can search for items in their inventory.” Marketing supervisor Diana Starkus said copies of a low-sodium store shopping list are available at customer service. There are several Trader Joe’s locations in the valley; Whole Foods is at 8855 W. Charleston Blvd. and 100 S. Green Valley Parkway in Henderson.

“Many low/no-sodium items can be ordered from www.healthyheartmarket.com,” Willson added. “They cost a little more but delivery is fast and I found items I couldn’t find elsewhere.” Plus, Willson said, Albertsons at 1760 E. Charleston Blvd. carries low-sodium cheddar cheese, and Albertsons at 6885 E. Lake Mead Blvd. has Tim’s no-salt potato chips.

“For those of us on low-sodium diets, it is an ongoing quest,” Willson said. …
