June 1, 2007 - 9:00 pm
KVBC-TV, Channel 3, news anchor Nina Radetich, KSTJ-FM, 102.7 and The Pearl at the Palms have joined together to present the fourth annual Nina’s Night Out on Thursday.
The annual fundraiser for the Rape Crisis Center will feature multiplatinum singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne performing tracks off of her new album, “The Best Damn Thing.”
She will perform at 8 p.m. at The Pearl at the Palms.
A VIP reception at ghostbar will precede the concert from 5 to 7 p.m. and will include an appearance by Lavigne, hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, a silent auction and goody bags.
Integrity Chrysler has donated a 2007 Chrysler 300 that will be raffled off at the concert. Raffle tickets are available at the Rape Crisis Center.
Ticket prices range from $50 to $115 and can be purchased via phone at Ticketmaster, 474-4000, or at The Pearl box office daily from noon until 7 p.m.
Admission to the VIP reception is available only through corporate sponsorships.
“It’s a sad fact but everybody knows somebody who’s been sexually assaulted,” says Radetich, who serves on the board of directors for the Rape Crisis Center and who will be hosting the event. “Nina’s Night Out is a night to celebrate the survivors and a way to raise money for an organization that does the work few are willing to do.”
All proceeds will benefit the Rape Crisis Center, the only nonprofit in Southern Nevada that provides advocacy to sexual assault victims.
“We are enormously grateful for the support that the community gives to this event,” said Louise Torres, executive director for the Rape Crisis Center. “Nina’s Night Out has raised much needed awareness and donations for our organization.”
To date, Nina’s Night Out has raised more than $250,000 for the Rape Crisis Center.
