Woman shot while walking home in central Las Vegas Valley
A woman was shot in the leg while walking home from a nearby, central valley store Wednesday night.
The woman was walking home about 8:35 p.m. in an alley near the intersection of Arville Street and Pennwood Avenue, which is between Decatur Boulevard and Valley View Boulevard, said Metropolitan Police Department Lt. David Gordon.
In the same alleyway, a group of black and Hispanic males had been arguing, Gordon said. After a dispute, at least one in the group fired several shots.
Two bullets hit the woman in the leg. She was taken to University Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries.
It’s unclear if any of the males in the group were injured.
As of Wednesday night, police were still investigating.
