Police seek three men in connection with Sunday morning shooting

Las Vegas police are searching for three suspects in connection with the shooting death of a man in the parking lot of a central valley apartment complex Sunday morning.

Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Dan McGrath said police responded just before 7 a.m. to a report of a shooting at the Hampton Court Apartments, 3955 Swenson Street.

When they arrived, officers found a black man dead of a gunshot wound to the head, McGrath said. The body was located at the south end of the complex’s parking lot.

A witness told police of seeing a man run up the stairs and into an apartment, he said. Police treated the scene as a barricade situation until he was found.

That man has been detained by police, but has not been deemed a suspect Sunday morning, McGrath added. “He is a person of interest,” McGrath said.

Police are seeking three suspects — two black men and a Hispanic or white man — who witnesses indicated were arguing with the man before the shooting, McGrath said.

Anyone with information on the shooting can contact Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 to remain anonymous.
