North Las Vegas police arrest man in connection with fatal shooting

North Las Vegas police arrested a man on Sunday in connection with a July 8 shooting that left one man dead. Police arrested Daniel Rodriguez, 19, in Las Vegas, on a warrant.

He faces the charge of murder with a deadly weapon as well as other charges related to his initial stop. The preliminary investigation indicates there was a disturbance at the residence prior to the shooting. About 7 p.m., officers responded to a call of a shooting in the 1800 block of Belmont Street, police said.

Arriving officers found a 32-year-old North Las Vegas man inside a residence, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medical personnel took the man to University Medical Center in critical condition, where he later died.
