Man shot in possible road rage incident

A man is in the hospital after a shooting Saturday afternoon in North Las Vegas.

North Las Vegas police officers responded to a shooting just before 3 p.m. near East Lake Mead Boulevard and North Belmont Street, spokeswoman Ann Cavaricci said. The initial report indicates the shooting was road rage-related.

A Hispanic male in his 20s was taken to University Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, Cavaricci said. Police believe the incident started on East Lake Mead Boulevard east of Pecos Road, she said.

Cavaricci said no suspects are in custody, and the suspect vehicle is a gray sedan.

The investigation may end up being under the Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction if it began east of North Pecos Road, she said.
