Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting in the southwest valley Saturday morning that left a man in critical condition.
Officers were called to the 6000 block of Conroe Court, near Jones Boulevard and Russell Road, at about 8:15 a.m. Saturday, said Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Richard Muyers. An altercation led to one person being shot, he said.
That person was taken to University Medical Center and was in “extremely critical condition” as of 11 a.m. Saturday, Metro homicide Lt. Ray Spencer said.
Police determined that the shooting happened after a fight involving multiple women at a Las Vegas Strip hotel. A boyfriend of one of the women, a man in his late 20s, learned of the fight and went to confront a man who lived at the home on Conroe Court, Spencer said.
The two men got into a fight outside the home, and the man who lived at the home shot the woman’s boyfriend, Spencer said.
The suspected shooter fled the scene before police arrived, he said.
Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting because the man was severely injured, Spencer said.
Las Vegas police on Saturday morning were investigating two other shootings, Spencer said. At about 11:45 p.m. Friday a male in his late teens was found in the northeast valley suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to University Medical Center, where he later died.
At about 1:10 a.m. police were called to a bar on the 3400 block of Nellis Boulevard, north of Cheyenne Avenue, after a woman fatally shot her ex-boyfriend in what police said was self-defense. The man threatened to kill her, and the woman believed he was reaching for a gun when she shot him inside the bar, Spencer said.
Another man died in a shooting in the Las Vegas Valley late Friday night, North Las Vegas police said. A 20-year-old man was found dead outside an apartment complex on the 3300 block of Civic Center Drive. The man may have been involved in a fight, and was found with a gunshot wound to the side upper torso, North Las Vegas police said.
