Pahrump man accused of distributing child pornography online
A 63-year-old Pahrump man accused of distributing child pornography on the internet was arrested Friday by the Nye County sheriff’s office.
Jerome Johnson faces one count each of distributing materials depicting pornography involving a minor and possession of visual presentation depicting sexual conduct of a person younger than 16.
Detectives found more than 80 “extremely graphic images involving young, unidentified children engaged in sexual acts with unidentified adults,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
Investigators were tipped off July 24 that child pornography images were being distributed from a Pahrump residence on the 2000 block of Quebec Street, where Johnson lives.
In an interview, Johnson told police he took responsibility for transmitting the images over the internet.
Johnson is out on bail pending a court date, the sheriff’s office said.
Nye County detectives are asking the public to contact the sheriff’s office at 775-751-6361 with any information.
