Security guard stabbed in fight with trespasser

A security guard was stabbed multiple times after a fight late Wednesday night, according to Las Vegas police.

Police responded to a call about 11:30 p.m. that a security guard had been stabbed after a fight at the Sunrise Executive Suites near Shiloah Drive and East Charleston Boulevard, Metro spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.

The fight began after two security guards had asked a male trespasser to leave the property, Meltzer said. The man began to run away and the security guards chased him and one hit him with a baton. The man then stabbed the security guard in the hand and shoulder, Meltzer said.

Police have located the suspect who claimed self-defense. The security guard took himself to a local hospital where he had non lifethreatening injuries, Meltzer said.
