Woman shot dead at apartment complex near Boulevard Mall
A woman died Wednesday night after she answered a knock at her door and was shot multiple times at an apartment complex near the Boulevard Mall.
The knock came at her apartment, on the northwest corner of Cambridge Street and Twain Avenue, about 10:20 p.m., Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Charles Jenkins said. When the woman opened her door, at least one person shot her several times.
It’s unclear if the woman knew the shooter or shooters. She was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center’s trauma unit where she died.
As of 1 a.m. no one was in custody. Police had not identified a possible suspect.
This was Metro’s 63rd homicide this year. As of 1 a.m. detectives were still investigating.
