Man’s body found in Bullhead City after police pursuit

A body discovered in a wash area in Bullhead City, Arizona, on Wednesday afternoon has been identified as Joseph Francis Campbell, 45, of Morongo Valley, California.

Bullhead City police said Campbell is the man they had been looking for since a pursuit that ended in a motorcycle crash early Tuesday morning.

Agency spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said Campbell wrecked a motorcycle after a brief pursuit. Campbell fled on foot and avoided capture but his nephew, a passenger on the motorcycle, was apprehended and arrested for outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

After they were unable to locate Campbell following the crash, authorities issued a warrant charging Campbell with leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended license. His remains were located within 200 yards of the crash, according to Fromelt.

Fromelt said there were no signs of trauma, no suspicion of foul play and that an autopsy will be conducted Monday to determine a cause of death.
