Man killed trying to stop North Las Vegas robbery identified

The Clark County Coroner has identified the good Samaritan killed last month while trying to stop a robbery in North Las Vegas.

Marcos Franco, 54, was struck and killed on Sept. 12 by a vehicle while attempting to stop a convenience store robbery.

Police said a woman entered a convenience store on the 300 block of West Lake Mead Boulevard and stole several items before attempting to flee.

She got into a dark-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee with California license plates, then struck and killed Franco as he tried to stop her from leaving.

Franco, a North Las Vegas resident, died at the University Medical Center. Police are still searching for the woman who struck him.
