A man was shot dead in the doorway of his central valley apartment Monday night, Las Vegas police said.

Officers were called about 7:45 p.m. on reports of the shooting and found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound at a complex on the 3600 block of Paradise Road, near Twain Avenue, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. The man was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he died.

Metro Sgt. Jon Scott said that the man was shot in the doorway to his apartment after an argument with two other men and possibly a woman. Police were still interviewing witnesses to determine the reason for the argument.

“At this point we don’t know,” Scott said.

Police are still searching for the shooter and the other people involved in the argument, Scott said.

It is unclear how many times the man was shot, but he did not fire back, Scott said.

He asked anybody with further information to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 and leave a tip.

The Clark County coroner’s office will release the man’s identity once his family is notified.

His death marks the 74th homicide within Clark County and the 55th investigated by Metro this year, according to Review-Journal records.
