Las Vegas man who died days after being shot is identified

A Las Vegas man who was left in critical condition earlier this month after he was shot by his sister has since died.

He was Craig O’Driscoll, 52, according to Clark County spokesman Dan Kulin. He died Oct. 12 at University Medical Center, where he was taken Oct. 7 after police said his 40-year-old sister shot him in the head.

Las Vegas police said the shooting happened on the 9700 block of Casper Peak Court, near Fort Apache and Spring Mountain roads, after the two argued. O’Driscoll was hospitalized in “very critical” condition, prompting an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department’s homicide unit.

No other details surrounding the shooting were available. As of Friday, the man’s sister had not been arrested in connection with his death, but Metro spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said the case will be submitted to the district attorney’s office for consideration.
