Coroner rules death of Henderson child in March was homicide
The death of a 2-year-old Henderson boy has been ruled a homicide by the Clark County Coroner’s office months after his mother was arrested on a murder charge.
Uriel Heckzo died of blunt-force head trauma on March 13 at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, the coroner’s office said.
He was transported to the hospital on March 10 after his mother, 29-year-old Jazmin Ramirez, called 911 and told dispatchers that her son wasn’t breathing.
A nine-page police report indicates that Ramirez did not tell medical personnel who initially treated the child that he had fallen off a bed and struck his head. She later told police that the fall triggered a seizure and insisted she had informed staff at St. Rose Dominican’s Siena campus, where she took her son, about the accident. The report indicates investigators determined that was a lie.
