The Clark County coroner’s office has identified the two people killed Wednesday in an apparent murder-suicide.
The coroner’s office on Thursday identified Donna Kim, 83, and John Kim, 79, as the deceased. The cause and manner of their deaths have not been released.
About 11:35 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to a call reporting gunshots at Las Vegas Post Acute & Rehabilitation, 2832 S. Maryland Parkway, near Vegas Valley Drive.
Police discovered the bodies of an elderly man and an elderly woman with gunshot wounds in a room in the facility, and doctors on site confirmed the deceased were a couple.
“Evidence at the scene indicates that the male shot the female, and then turned the gun on himself,” the Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement Thursday.
Police said family members of the couple were notified Wednesday and one relative is traveling from California.
Metro said this was the 99th homicide in their jurisdiction for 2016.
