Boyfriend of woman found dead in southeast valley last week arrested

The boyfriend of the woman found stabbed to death last Friday has been arrested in connection with her killing, Las Vegas police said Thursday.

Michael Garcia, 54, was identified as a person of interest shortly after police on May 13 found the body of Linda Wise, 53, stabbed several times inside a home on the 5500 block of Hobble Creek Drive, near Russell Road and Nellis Boulevard.

Though Wise’s body was found May 13, detectives said she had been dead for a few days.

A criminal apprehension team located Garcia near Tropicana Avenue and Maryland Parkway on Thursday, and together they took him into custody without incident.

He is being held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center and faces one charge of murder.
