Three people have been charged with murder after a newborn boy was found dead in a filthy Pahrump home.

Daniel Bills, Erica Lorlean Eisenloffel and Angelina Guerini-Bolt were each charged with six counts of child abuse and one count of murder, according to a criminal complaint filed July 13 in Nye County.

Prosecutors said the three were responsible for the care of the 19-day-old boy, who was found dead on Oct. 20. The Nye County sheriff’s office had not released the boy’s cause and manner of death as of Thursday morning.

Eisenloffel and Bills were the boy’s parents, according to a statement from the Nye County district attorney’s office. Eisenloffel is the daughter of Nye County Undersheriff Michael Eisenloffel, authorities said.

Sheriff Sharon Wehrly said in a video posted Thursday night that she had turned the investigation over to Nevada State Police “to avoid the appearance of impropriety.”

Wehrly identified the newborn as Thaniel Bills.

The criminal complaint said the boy faced “unjustifiable physical pain or mental suffering” because the home was filled with human waste, garbage and drug paraphernalia.

“I have had virtually no contact with my daughter for more than two years as she has chosen a life of narcotics use and criminal activity,” Eisenloffel said. “The day the Nye County sheriff’s office was notified of the baby’s transport to the hospital and subsequent death was the first time I became aware that my daughter had delivered the baby.”

He said he had never been inside the house where his daughter was living and did not know she was pregnant.

Wehrly said Erica Eisenloffel had been previously arrested by the Nye County Sheriff’s Office on charges that included possessing a controlled substance and child abuse.

Prosecutors said the boy was starved and dehydrated before his death, and they believe he had ingested methamphetamine and contaminated formula.

Guerini-Bolt and Bills were arrested Tuesday on a warrant and are scheduled to appear in court Aug. 25 for a preliminary hearing. Wehrly said Eisenloffel was arrested by Nevada Highway Patrol in Las Vegas and was awaiting transport back to Nye County.
