Henderson police warn of scammers posing as job recruiters
The Henderson Police Department is warning the public of scammers posing as job recruiters for an Alaska-based company in order to obtain victims’ identities.
Suspected scammers held fake meetings across Southern Nevada between July 9 and Aug. 5, telling victims that they are hiring for a new Wolverines Services location opening in the valley, according to the Police Department.
During the meetings, suspects collect identification cards and Social Security numbers from victims who believe they are completing employment paperwork, police said.
The Police Department is asking those who may have been targeted by the scam to monitor their credit. They can report any fraudulent transactions to the department at 702-267-4750.
