Slot machine company donates $5,000 to solve man’s slaying
A Nevada slot machine operator has pledged a $5,000 donation to help solve the slaying of 31-year-old North Las Vegas man who was shot outside a bank last month.
The United Coin Machine Co., a slot route operator serving more than 135 7-Eleven stores in Southern Nevada, will match the $5,000 donation of the victim’s family, the company announced Thursday.
Amanpreet Singh was killed March 30 outside a Wells Fargo bank near Sunset Road and Eastern Avenue. Las Vegas police said Singh, who worked at a nearby convenience store and made frequent deposits, was probably targeted in a robbery.
A United Coin official said in a statement the company was happy to make the pledge.
“This was a horrific event that has not only shaken our company and our community, but the entire 7-Eleven family of owners, operators and support vendors,” Chief Executive Officer Steven Arntzen said.
Singh’s family announced Tuesday they donated $5,000 to Crime Stoppers in Singh’s honor.
Police have few leads in the case.
Two men driving a white, four-door Dodge Stratus are suspected in the crime. Police found the car near the scene. The suspects also might have used a silver Ford F-150 with no bed cover or camper shell.
