Second victim identified in apartment complex shooting
The second victim of a deadly double shooting at the Sunflower Apartments complex Monday has been identified.
According to a police report obtained Thursday, the victim was Tamaron Clewis, 41.
She was shot in the head by Marco Guzman, 23, according to the report. Guzman told police he also shot and killed Anthony Dickerson, 27, the report said.
The incident began after Guzman and Charles Deverna, 33, went to Dickerson’s apartment at 1500 E. Fremont St. about
7 p.m., according to the report.
Guzman told police they went there to pick up a printer but got into a fight with Dickerson, the report said. Guzman said he “felt he had to defend himself” and shot Dickerson several times in the chest, according to the report.
Guzman told police that Clewis then approached him with a knife, and as she turned away from him toward the kitchen, he shot her, the report said.
Guzman and Deverna stole Dickerson’s truck and fled the scene, the report said.
Guzman was arrested Wednesday morning as he tried to flee Las Vegas, police said. He was charged with two counts of murder with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon and grand larceny auto.
Dickerson’s family and prior police statements indicated the conflict was over drugs.
Deverna has not been arrested, according to county jail records.
