Pedestrian crossing street killed in hit-and-run
A 43-year-old man was killed Monday morning when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street. The vehicle left the scene.
Las Vegas police said the man, who was not identified, was struck while crossing Nellis Boulevard in a marked crosswalk near Carey Avenue about 2:20 a.m.
The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene.
The man was taken to University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The Clark County coroner’s office will identify the man.
This was the 78th traffic-related death in the Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction this year.
