Man killed in June hit-and-run identified

A 53-year-old man killed in a hit-and-run in June was identified by the county Clark County coroner’s office Monday.

Johnny Lee Armstead was crossing Maryland Parkway north of Desert Inn Road about 9:30 p.m. June 28 when he was struck and killed by a dark sedan.

The sedan fled the scene.

Armstead was not in a marked crosswalk. He died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

Las Vegas police said no one has been arrested and a vehicle had not been identified.

Anyone with information about the sedan should call the Fatal Detail at 828-3535 or, to remain anonymous, call CrimeStoppers at 385-5555. Information leading to an arrest or conviction through Crime Stoppers may result in a cash reward.
