Clark County employee indicted in embezzling conspiracy
Federal authorities have indicted Clark County employee Erik Holman on 15 counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud and aiding and abetting.
According to a Dec. 21 indictment, Holman and a co-conspirator are accused of embezzling thousands of dollars over a four-year period from an insurance company that insured motorists.
Holman is accused of having said he would provide private investigative services to the company where the unnamed co-conspirator was an attorney authorized to issue checks to vendors, such as private investigators.
The pair are accused of creating fraudulent invoices when they "knew that Holman had not provided the services." Authorities say the company attorney sent wire communications from a computer in Nevada to a computer in Wisconsin to process his requests, and that the two shared the proceeds Holman received.
Holman, a senior human resources analyst, has worked for the county since Sept. 30, 2002.
An April 10 trial date has been set before U.S. District Judge Gloria Navarro.
