Wynn Resorts, Guy Savoy given five-star awards by Forbes
Wynn Resorts Ltd. and Restaurant Guy Savoy are among the 2013 Forbes Five-Star Award winners.
Forbes Travel Guide on Tuesday announced its 55th annual listing of five-star hotels, spas and restaurants. It named the Tower Suites and spas at Wynn and Encore in Las Vegas and the hotels and spas at Wynn Macau and Encore Macau in its list.
Combined, Las Vegas-based Wynn Resorts has earned 40 stars, which is more than any other independent hotel company.
“We are, of course, thrilled at this wonderful distinction,” Wynn Resorts Chairman and CEO Steve Wynn said. “Yet, we recognize and covet the most important of all the ratings, the satisfaction of each guest at each of our hotels every day.”
This is the seventh consecutive year that the Tower Suites has been on the list. This year, the spas at the Wynn and Encore also were honored.
It’s also the fifth consecutive year that Wynn Macau and The Spa at Wynn Macau earned five-star awards. However, it is the first time that Wynn Macau’s sister resort Encore Macau was chosen, a company spokeswoman said.
Forbes Travel Guide also awarded five stars to Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace. The restaurant is one of three Las Vegas restaurants — Joel Robuchon and Twist by Pierre Gagnaire are others — to receive the Forbes five-star award.
“I’m so proud of my team,” chef Guy Savoy said in a statement. “Most of us have been together since I opened my only U.S. restaurant in Las Vegas seven years ago. It is an honor to be awarded the prestigious five stars by Forbes.”
Forbes Travel Guide awarded five-stars to 12 hotels, restaurants and spas in Nevada.
Other hotels on the 2013 list were the Mandarin Oriental, Aria Sky Suites and Skylofts at MGM Grand, while the spas at the Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental were included.
“The Forbes Travel Guide annual Star Awards represent the best in class in luxury hospitality,” Forbes Travel Guide President and Chief Operating Officer Michael Cascone said.
The travel guide was founded in 1958 as the Mobil Travel Guide.
