Several Las Vegas Bank of America branches temporarily closed

Updated July 3, 2020 - 10:33 am

Several Las Vegas Bank of America branches have temporarily closed citing staffing shortages.

The Bank of America website indicates there are about 40 Las Vegas Valley branch or ATM locations.

A company spokeswoman told the Review-Journal the company has committed to no coronavirus-related layoffs this year and said the bank is doing everything it can to keep as many centers open as possible.

Closures have been out of an abundance of caution, the spokeswoman said. For example, some locations might be temporarily closed because they aren’t large enough to sufficiently allow for social distancing. Others might close because of staffing shortages as workers may need to care for family members, she said.

The company declined to say how many workers have tested positive.

“In this unprecedented time, Bank of America remains committed to safely serving our clients,” a company statement said. “At times, we may need to close a financial center as we operate in an abundance of caution. In all cases we work to minimize the impact of a closure to the local community and our clients are always be supported 24/7 through our mobile banking platform and bankofamerica.com, where our branch locator tool has the most up to date information on hours of operation as well as the closest ATMs.”
