Reality star to open first hotel on Las Vegas Strip

Updated March 13, 2025 - 10:15 am

One of the Strip’s largest hotel-casino operators is rebranding an existing property as part of an expanding partnership with reality television personality and businesswoman Lisa Vanderpump.

The Cromwell, a boutique hotel on the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road, will undergo a complete renovation into The Vanderpump Hotel, Caesars Entertainment announced Tuesday in a news release. The transition is expected to be complete by early 2026, the company said.

Caesars and Vanderpump have collaborated on multiple projects in Las Vegas, including Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace hotel-casino, Vanderpump à Paris at the Paris hotel-casino and the recently opened Pinky’s by Vanderpump at Flamingo hotel-casino.

“I am thrilled to once again be partnering with Caesars Entertainment, this time to venture into the hotel business,” Vanderpump said in the release. “What an extraordinary opportunity to develop this iconic location into something unique, playful and upscale.”

According to the announcement, the rebrand will include an enhanced hotel reception and front desk area, a new lounge and the property’s 188 guest rooms and suites will be redesigned. The Vanderpump Hotel will have an “emphasis on sexy elegance and comfort, with gorgeous rooms and a fresh, new feel to the casino floor.”

“Hospitality has always been our passion, and our mission is to create something sumptuous with a unique atmosphere,” Vanderpump said. “Our successful history has always been based on the individuality of the location.”

Sean McBurney, regional president of Caesars Entertainment, touted the trio of “very successful restaurants in Las Vegas,” and described the company’s partnership with Vanderpump as “phenomenal.

“Now we get to take Lisa’s vision and expertise to the next level — infusing her talent and creativity into an entire hotel at the most incredible location on the Las Vegas Strip,” McBurney said in the release. “Nowhere else in the world can guests experience The Vanderpump Hotel, and we couldn’t be more proud to debut it.”

The Cromwell will continue to operate during its transformation to The Vanderpump Hotel.

“The Vanderpump Hotel represents the identity behind the name we know and respect — Lisa Vanderpump — whose strong, signature style and passion for hospitality are unmatched,” said Terrence O’Donnell, senior vice president and general manager of the property. “We couldn’t be more excited to collaborate on this unique project that not only transforms our hotel but also changes the Las Vegas Strip.”

The hotel-casino originally opened as Barbary Coast in 1979. Boyd Gaming took over the property when it purchased Coast Casinos in 2004. Less than two years later, Boyd and Harrah’s Entertainment — which eventually became Caesars Entertainment — agreed to terms on a property swap, which resulted in the latter renaming the property Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall and Saloon in 2007. The Cromwell debuted in 2014.
