Virgin Hotels Las Vegas offers details on ‘desert oasis’ pool complex

Updated October 23, 2020 - 11:50 am

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas is set to offer guests a “modern desert oasis” early next year with a 5-acre pool and entertainment complex.

A Friday press release said its outdoor offerings will include a resort pool, dayclub, promenade, and event lawn.

“Our new pool and entertainment complex will connect the entire property,” said Richard “Boz” Bosworth, President and CEO of JC Hospitality, owner of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, in a statement.

Formerly the Hard Rock Hotel, the property is undergoing renovations and is slated to open Jan. 15. Some of its outdoor offerings will open at a later date.

The Mediterranean-style pool, with a March opening, will include VIP-style cabanas and daybeds. It will align with The Promenade, a pathway that includes an event lawn and multiple restaurants, including chef Todd English’s Olives; Hakkasan Group’s Casa Calavera; restaurateur Nick Mather’s Kassi Beach Club; and Money, Baby!, a sports and entertainment venue that includes a patio that overhangs the resort pool.

Each restaurant will have outdoor seating and views of the pools and event lawn, according to the statement.

The event lawn will host concerts and private events, and connects to The Manor, an indoor event space near the resort pool and promenade.

The property’s Mykonos-themed, two-story dayclub will include an open-air stage for a music festival-feel. There will also be multi-level bar experiences and a poolside restaurant. The club is set to open in April.

Virgin Hotels, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, will feature three hotel towers with more than 1,500 rooms and a 60,000-square-foot Mohegan Sun Casino.

On Thursday, Nevada gaming regulators approved the licensing of Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment; it will be the first tribal gaming enterprise to operate a casino in the Las Vegas resort corridor.
