Antitrust lawsuit against IGT dismissed by federal judge

A federal judge in Las Vegas has dismissed a 6-year-old antitrust lawsuit against International Game Technology that was brought against the company by rival slot machine maker Bally Technologies.

United States District Court Judge Robert Jones granted summary judgment in favor of IGT on Tuesday on all antitrust and Lanham Act counterclaims brought by Bally.

He also disposed of the remaining claims by ruling that an IGT patent was invalid and dismissed Bally’s counterclaim to invalidate another IGT patent.

The lawsuit was originally filed in December 2004, when Bally known as Alliance Gaming Corp.
