Isle of Capri CEO Virginia McDowell joins company’s board

Isle of Capri Casinos expanded its board of directors by one seat recently and filled the position with company Chief Executive Officer Virginia McDowell.

"Virginia is a dynamic and respected leader in the gaming industry who has spearheaded our efforts to fundamentally improve our company and build a platform for growth and success,” Isle Chairman James Perry said in a statement.

McDowell became St. Louis-based Isle of Capri’s CEO in April 2011. She has more than 30 years of gaming industry experience. She joined the regional casino company in 2007 as president and chief operating officer.

McDowell has overseen several deleveraging transactions and is leading development of the company’s newest casino projects in Cape Girardeau, Mo., and at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Western Pennsylvania.

Prior to joining Isle of Capri, McDowell served as senior executive at Trump Entertainment Resorts and Argosy Gaming.
