IGT gets a new board member
Slot machine maker International Game Technology has added Northern California attorney David Roberson to its board of directors, pending regulatory approval.
Roberson is an executive with the Storage Works Division of Hewlett-Packard Co., a position he has held since 2007. He previously held the positions of president and CEO of Hitachi Data Systems Corporation. He worked in various management positions with Hitachi during his 26 years with the company.
IGT plans on implementing a server-based gaming system next year at Aria, the 4,000-room hotel-casino centerpiece of MGM Mirage’s $9.1 billion CityCenter development. Roberson’s background in the technology industry may be drawn upon by IGT.
"His former board affiliations and extensive leadership experience in the computer technology industry along with his legal background should serve our company well," IGT chairman and CEO TJ Matthews said in a statement.
