Former ‘November Niner’ Jarvis wins first World Series of Poker bracelet
Matt Jarvis of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, became the first member of last year’s "November Nine" to win an individual event champions bracelet at the 2011 World Series of Poker.
Jarvis, won the $5,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Six-Handed event, taking home $808,538 and his first ever gold bracelet.
Last year, Jarvis reached the final table of nine players and finished in eighth place at the World Series of Poker’s $10,000 buy-in World Championship No Limit Hold’em Main Event, winning more than $1 million.
Jarvis beat a field of 732 players for his bracelet Sunday, which marked the fifth by a Canadian at this year’s World Series of Poker, the most by any country other than the U.S.
Justin Filtz of Stevens Point, Wi., finished second to Jarvis, winning $499,855.
